About
Welcome to Piazza Italiana, a splendid dining destination nestled in the heart of London at 38 Threadneedle St. This exquisite Italian restaurant is a true gem, offering a luxurious culinary experience that transports diners to the enchanting streets of Italy. The ambiance is nothing short of grand, featuring soaring arches and intricate ceilings that create a mesmerizing backdrop for any occasion.
At Piazza Italiana, each dish is crafted with precision and passion. The Risotto Al Tartufo, for example, is a decadent blend of truffle butter, fresh black truffle, and a slow-cooked egg yolk, delivering a rich and creamy experience that leaves a lasting impression. Priced at £24, this dish encapsulates the restaurant's dedication to quality ingredients and authentic flavors. Another standout is the Spaghetti alle Vongole, which combines homemade spaghetti with fresh clams and a delicate white wine sauce for a delightful seafood experience priced at £27. Every plate reflects the mastery of traditional Italian cooking, elevating the dining experience beyond mere sustenance.
Customer reviews resonate with joy and satisfaction, echoing sentiments of exceptional service and atmosphere. One patron remarked on the friendliness of the staff and a thoughtful gesture for a birthday celebration, highlighting how Piazza Italiana excels in personalizing experiences. The attentive service, mentioned by many, ensures that every guest feels valued, enhancing the overall allure of the evening.
However, it’s not just the food that captivates; the overall elegance of the venue plays a significant role in creating an unforgettable dining affair. As one reviewer noted, the ambiance is grand yet refined, making it a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Yet, the restaurant's grandeur does come with a slight drawback—the acoustics might challenge intimate conversations during busy hours. This minor hiccup, however, doesn't overshadow the culinary wizardry on display.
Piazza Italiana's menu also boasts a variety of contorni, such as Sauteed Courgettes and Triple Cooked Chips drizzled with truffle oil. Each side complements the rich main offerings beautifully, ensuring that every element of your meal is thoughtfully curated. With robust flavor profiles and elegant presentations, you'll find it hard to resist indulging in multiple courses.
In conclusion, Piazza Italiana isn’t merely a restaurant; it's a celebration of Italian cuisine and culture wrapped in a sophisticated package. With its magnificent decor, exceptional dishes like Truffle Risotto and Spaghetti al Tartufo, and providing attentive service, this establishment is a must-visit for anyone seeking an enriching culinary experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a delightful meal, Piazza Italiana promises to satiate your cravings in style. I, for one, can’t wait to return to explore even more of its delectable offerings!
“ Visited this Gem this evening. Had a wonderful experience. We were greeted by the friendly manager and served by attentive waitress. The food was just as amazing as the atmosphere. They also did a small gesture as it was my husbands birthday! Will surly hey visiting this place again ”
“ We came to the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and couldn't be happier with our experience at Piazza Italiana. We loved the food, from the starters to the main course, and the extraordinary attentiveness of the staff made this celebration even greater. Thank you, Szabi, for the invitation. We'll definitely be back soon. ”
“ Dining at this Italian restaurant is an undeniably luxurious experience. Set in a magnificent historic hall, the interior design boasts soaring arches, intricate ceilings, and opulent detailing that transports you to another era. The ambiance feels grand yet refined, making it a feast for the eyes even before the meal begins. We enjoyed a selection of Baked Oyster, Pasta, and Truffle Risotto. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, offering a flavour profile that was certainly above average. The Truffle Risotto, in particular, stood out with its creamy texture and balanced richness. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring a seamless dining experience. However, the grandeur of the space comes with a notable drawback: the acoustics. With no apparent sound-absorbing elements in the decor, the dining room becomes filled with a persistent hum of voices, making it challenging to hold a conversation. By the end of our 90-minute meal, the noise level felt more draining than expected, slightly detracting from an otherwise delightful evening. Overall, this restaurant excels in its culinary offerings and elegant atmosphere, though some improvements in acoustic design would enhance the comfort of diners. ”
“ A really nice Italian restaurant, a lot of attention was put into the food and cocktails. Overall great tasting food, from appetizers to desert. Service by Kibra was also perfect. Will definitely return here in the evenings after work in the future. ”
“ Came here to celebrate my birthday with friends and had the best time! The food was absolutely delicious — proper feast vibes — and the venue is just stunning. Staff were super lovely and looked after us so well even though the place was really busy. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better spot to celebrate. Already thinking about when I can come back! ”
“ Piazza Italiana, is an absolute gem! Set in a beautifully restored historic building, the interior is breathtaking—soaring ceilings, elegant chandeliers, and those grand Corinthian columns that just scream sophistication. It’s got that perfect mix of fancy and cozy, whether you’re there for date night, a business lunch, or a special celebration. My friend and I went yesterday and had such a great time. We booked through the First Table app, which gave us an awesome 50% off the food bill—how can you not love that? The wine list is huge, with picks from all over, and we chose a beautiful bottle that paired perfectly with our meal. We kicked things off with the vitello tonnato, which was flavorful and downright delicious, and the tuna tartare—though honestly, it was a bit on the subtle side for our tastes. For mains, we dug into the spaghetti con vongole and the mixed seafood pasta. Both were loaded with super fresh, high-quality seafood and hit the spot perfectly. Naturally, we had to finish with dessert, so we shared a tiramisu, which was the perfect sweet ending. The service? Top-notch. A big shoutout to Kibra, our server, who was attentive, friendly, and just a joy to chat with. Between the gorgeous setting, the amazing food, and the stellar service, it was a meal to remember—and we’re already planning to come back! ”
“ I celebrated my birthday here, and it was an unforgettable experience! Alberto and Kibra were wonderful, and the waiter who prepared my truffle pasta made the evening truly spectacular. The attention to detail and the warmth of the staff created an incredible night that I will never forget. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience! ”
“ Well now - I went here many years ago, and was impressed. I went again last night, and was very impressed indeed! Now look, a Threadneedle Street address means we're not in Poundland (itself, like the UK economy, now defunct). Sure, its pricy but you get really good food, a nice environment, well-informed and helpful staff. And of course, yummy-scummy Italian food. Recommended! You're worth it! Especially if on an expense account.... Oh, and there's two bars, and an internal courtyard seating area. ”
